TWIM

I studied and practiced various methods with leading teachers for nearly forty years but was dissatisfied with the results. I gradually discovered that all of the prominent forms of Buddhism inherited cultural modifications that diverged from the original meditation methods taught by the Buddha. Finding a meditation method that reflected what I read in the Buddha’s teachings took many years of trial and error, hope, and disappointment.

In 2009, I discovered Tranquil Wisdom Insight Meditation (TWIM). It revealed an unforced, joyful meditation that was conducive to my lifelong quest. I found it led to deep relief and ptofound contentment. It has motivated me to dedicate time and attention to helping others along the same path

The Dhamma has taken root in the West

It was great honor to temporarily ordain as a Sāmaṇera (novice monk) in 2019 by my teacher Venerable Bhante Vimalaramsi. Having had decades of meditation study and training, the brief induction into the Buddhist sangha or monastic community was joyful and memorable.

My enduring gratitude goes to the late Venerable Bhante Vimalaramsi, Bhante Madawela Punnaji, Venerable Sayadaw U Silananda, Anagarika Shri Munindra, Dipa Ma Barua, and esteemed lay teachers. Their embodiment of the Buddha’s teachings made possible this ordination and high honor.
